The British Society for Research on Ageing (BSRA) promotes research to understand the causes and effects of the ageing process. BSRA encourages publication and public understanding of ageing research and holds an annual scientific meeting. The Springer Journal, Biogerontology, is the formal affiliated Journal of the society. Biogerontology offers a platform for research which aims primarily at achieving healthy old age accompanied by improved longevity.

A highly-motivated, bright and enthusiastic graduate is sought for an exciting research-training opportunity, fully-funded by the University of Hull as part of the ‘80th Anniversary' Scholarship programme. The research project will investigate the highly topical subject of cardiovascular ageing under the supervision of Dr Sandra Jones.

The Croonian Prize Lecture - The new biology of ageing

Professor Linda Partridge, University College London will give the Croonian Prize Lecture on Tuesday 26th May 2009 at 6.30pm The Royal Society.  This lecture is free - no ticket or advanced booking required. Doors open at 5.45pm and seats will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.  This lecture will be webcast LIVEat royalsociety.org/live and available to view on demand within 48 hours of delivery.

Human Ageing Genomic Resources (HAGR)

The University of Liverpool maintains a collection of databases and tools entitled the Human Ageing Genomic Resources (HAGR). Its two centrepieces are GenAge, a database of genes associated with ageing in different organisms and systems, and AnAge, a database of ageing and longevity in animals.
